What happens in
the brain when we produce, hear or read a word or sentence?
The effortless action of recognizing words and producing words and then merging them into sentences involves a series of subtle cognitions that until recently could not be assessed in depth. ACESIN Lab investigates the neurophysiological underpinnings of language acquisition, lexical access and sentence processing, by studying the syntactic, morphophonological and semantic aspects of the process.
The lab´s PI is Aniela Improta França.
We have a valuable group of undergraduate and graduate students
We have a valuable group of undergraduate and graduate students who study Language Theory together with Neuroscience of Language. We also cooperate with several laboratories of neuroscience that use language as stimuli or research theme.
